Carey Price Sick, Habs Recall Marc Denis from Hamilton Bulldogs
With Carey Price being the latest victim of the flu bug that has ripped through the Habs' line-up over that past few weeks, The Montreal Canadiens have called up Marc Denis in order to play backup for Jaroslav Halak who gets the start tonight aginst the Islanders. No word yet as to the degree of Price's illness or whether he will be ready for the game against Toronto on Saturday night.
In 44 games with the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate this season, Denis
posted a 25-18-0 record with a 2.48 goals-against average, a .920 save percentage, and five shutouts.
Denis, 31, appeared in one game with the Canadiens this season, turning aside six of the seven shots he faced in 20 minutes of ice time on January 2, 2009, in New Jersey.
