Canadiens call up Mathieu Carle from the Hamilton Bulldogs
While it was reported yesterday by RDS that the Canadiens had called up D Mathieu Carle from the Hamilton Bulldogs, the official word from the Canadiens’ camp was sent out today.
Carle is to fill in for Hal Gill, who was injured in practice yesterday after taking a shot off the foot.
No news yet on the extent to Gill’s injury, but this is a perfect opportunity for the young defensive prospect to bring his size and defensive play, as well as his ability to pinch in when needed, to the forefront. In a growingly depleting Montreal blue line, one would think that if Carle impresses, he may just stick around for a while.
