It would appear that David Desharnais’ 6 hour limousine ride from Hamilton to Pittsburgh lasted longer than his first stint in the NHL.
The Canadiens announced today that Desharnais, who played just over seven minutes in his first regular season game as a Montreal Canadiens, and first ever in the NHL, was being reassigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Desharnais was called up as an insurance policy yesterday when it appeared that the Canadiens would only be dressing 18 players due to various injuries.
Now with the news that both Scott Gomez and newly acquired Benoit Pouliot may be available to play by this Saturday’s encounter against the Capitals, Desharnais received his orders.
