Dec 11 Canadiens assign Benoit Pouliot to the Hamilton Bulldogs - Habs presser - Benoit Pouliot to Hamilton

Montreal (December 10, 2009) – The Montreal Canadiens announced today that left winger Benoit Pouliot has been assigned to the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs for conditioning purposes. Pouliot will report to Hamilton tonight.

The Bulldogs will play their next game against the Abbotsford Heath on Sunday, December 13.

Pouliot, 23, was acquired from the Minnesota Wild on November 23 in return for Guillaume Latendresse. The 6’03’’, 199 lbs forward has yet to play a game with the Canadiens due to a hand injury.

Pouliot played 14 games with the Wild this season, recording four points (2 goals, 2 assists), serving 12 penalty minutes with a plus/minus rating of 0 and averaging 11:56 minutes of ice time per game.

Pouliot entered his third NHL season in 2009-10. He played in 65 regular season games, recording 18 points (9 goals, 9 assists), and maintaining a -1 plus/minus rating with two tallies on the power play.
