Avon Cobourne Named CFL's Offensive Player Of the Week (13)
And as the Als go, so do the individual honours in the CFL. It should be no surprise that Avon Cobourne was named the Canadian Football League’s Offensive Player of the Week for Week 13.

Cobourne tallied for the most successful game of his career thus far with 193 yards and 2 touchdowns on 23 carries as well as 46 yards on five catches. These honour worthy numbers were compiled during the Alouette’s convincing 42-8 trouncing of the Hamilton Tigercats in Hamilton last Friday night.
He also surpassed the 1,000 rushing-yards plateau in a season for the first time and now leads the CFL with 13 touchdowns – including 11 rushing majors, 1,423 yards from scrimmage and 1,043 rushing yards.
The BC Lions’ Martell Mallett is just behind him in yards at 1005, but with only 4 touchdowns to his credit and Winnipeg’s Fred Reid, a leader in this category for a moment, is falling behind at 967 yards and 6 TD’s.
Cobourne had mentioned wanting to go 1000 in both the air and the ground. While he has taken care of the latter, it would seem that at 380 yards receiving, the former may be out of reach. But hey, you never know.
