Jun 22 Alouettes Release 10 Players and Add a 4th Quarterback

The Montreal Alouettes have announced today the addition of another QB and the release of the following players:

PL/DT, Darrell Campbell*
DC/CB, Alex Chandler*
RÉ/WR, Patrick Cobourne* (Avon’s brother)
BL/T, Kristoffer Doura*
RÉ/WR, Marcus Freeman*
RÉ/WR, C.J. Hawthorne*
DI/SB, Taylor Krislock
PL/DT, Justin Lawrence
DC/CB, Sir Snowden*

In an interesting move, however, they have also announced the addition of another quarterback to the roster in Ricky Santos, a non-Canadian/Import. Santos originally signed with the Als back in 2008 after a stint with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was traded to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers a year later. If you add him to Anthony Calvillo, Adrian McPherson and Chris Leak and one has to wonder if a transaction is afoot.

The Als are expected to announce the final roster Thursday, June 24 at 3 p.m
