
Alouettes' Damon Duval Named Player of the Week

It is no surprise to this writer that Montreal Alouettes kicker Damon Duval was named the CFL’s Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 7. After a great game the week before, going 5 for 5 against the Tigercats, including a 51 yarder, he managed to top that tally again this week. Not only did he manage to maintain his completion streak, going a career high 6 for 6, but he managed to also kick a career best 52 yard field goal in the process. read on for the official Alouettes press release
Montreal, Aug. 12, 2008 – Montreal Alouettes kicker Damon Duval was named the CFL’s Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 7 following an exceptional performance in the Alouettes’ 39-11 win over the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg last Friday, Aug. 8.
Duval nailed a career-best six field goals, from distances of 33, 42, 52, 23, 24, and 20 yards, with the 52-yarder also a career high. The four-year Alouette veteran currently leads the CFL with 22 field goals on 23 attempts for 95.7 per cent efficiency rate. He is currently on a streak of 16-consecutive field goals and is approaching the team record of 21 set by Don Sweet in 1976.
The Alouettes next play the Argonauts in Toronto at the Rogers Centre this Friday at 7:30 p.m. (RDS/TSN/CKAC SPORTS/CJAD 800).
