Nothing like a rebound game to get the morale going.
After a dreadful loss to the Val D’Or Foreurs Sunday, the Juniors got back on track last night with a hard fought 3-2 victory over the visiting Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
Trevor Parkes scored the first goal of the game on a penalty shot in the 2nd period, Chris Thorne notched the game winner and Jake Allen played an inspired game in nets, stopping 29 of the 31 shots he faced.
Unfortunately, as rumour and common sense would have it, it would appear that Friday night will most likely be Jake Allen's last game as a Montreal Junior as he leaves Saturday morning for the World Juniors camp and chances are good that he will make the team.
Speculation has it that when the tournament is over, Allen will be traded, most likely to a team close to home in the Maritimes.
If this is the case, Allen’s swansong and the Juniors next home game is this Friday night when they will host Baie-Comeau. They do not return home again until December 30th.
Read on for the official Juniors’ game recap.
