The Montreal Juniors ended a ridiculous weekend that saw them play 3 games in three nights including one on the road. It ended as most would expect, with  a 1-2 record.

Montreal first played the Halifax Mooseheads on Friday the 20th at the Verdun Auditorium and while a win was expected, as their foe was listed as dead last in the QMJHL standings, the game would have to go all the way to the shootout to end it.

Then Montreal faced off against the Shawinigan Cataractes and while it started as the home team would have wanted, with team captain Nicolas Chouinard’s 10th of the season at 16:52 of the first, it was all Shawinigan after that. The Cataracte outshot Montreal 34-24 and former Junior, Toni Ritter scored the game winner at 16:42 of the 3rd and an empty net goal  by Michael Bournival would seal the Juniors’ fate. The game would end 3-1.

No rest in site for Pascal Vincent’s young troop as they then boarded the team bus and headed east to Quebec where they were to meet the Remparts.
