The "Player of the Week" honours keep piling up for the Montreal Alouettes and the team shows no signs of slowing down, be it on the field or in the winners' category for every week's nominations.

This week is actually an exception, as in the previous weeks, only one player was named when the winners were announced. This week, quarterback Anthony Calvillo as well as defensive end Anwar Stewart were fittingly named the CFL's Offensive and Defensive Players of the week for week 4.

It was their toughest outing yet, but the Montreal Alouettes are still unbeaten in four games. Anthony Calvillo is alone in second place all time for most career touchdown passes in CFL history after his 334th career touchdown pass to Jamel Richardson and would add to the total as the Als roll past the Hamilton Tigercats by a score of 21-8

The best offense of the CFL met up with arguably the best defense and the league's only 2 unbeaten teams collided as the Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders fought it out on retro day in Regina. But after a tentative, turnover laden first half, the Als would adapt, overcome and dominate in the second, outscoring the Roughriders 29-2 in that span.

With two convincing wins in their first two starts, it is no surprise that the Montreal Alouettes have a member of their team named  as player of the week for two staright weeks. Kick returner Larry Taylor was named the CFL’s Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 2.
